When: March 26th - 28th
Where: Camp Pettijohn Retreat Center
Travel Details: Leave building around 4:00 on Friday night in vans, we'll return Sunday afternoon. (Possibly an opportunity to carpool on Saturday with basketball players)
What to Bring: Money for dinner on Friday night and dinner Sunday. Bedding, toiletries, snacks, Bible, pen.
Theme: DIFFERENT - 2020 has been a different year to be a follower of Jesus. We'll look at what lessons we can learn from following Jesus in 2020 and how we can be "different" throughout 2021 also!
COVID Considerations: This weekend will involve 4 hours' worth of being in a van, spending all weekend participating in lessons, eating, and playing games, all while being together inside a smaller building. Additionally, we'll be sleeping in two bunk rooms (one for boys and one for girls).
We don't believe that there will be an effective way to socially distance or limit what can be transferred to one another. Therefore, we will not be putting any precautions in place. We don't want to give a false sense of security to those who need to be cautious because of their own, or a family member's health considerations. Because of the nature of a 4-day indoor retreat, while in close proximity, we don't believe that anyone would be any safer with the recommended precautions. We would still ask that you not attend if you are feeling sick, even if you just believe it to be a cold.
The last thing we want to do is make our teens or families feel isolated, so we will have another event at the end of March, to resemble a "retreat" like atmosphere at the building. At this event in March, we will have all of the recommended COVID precautions so that all of our teens and families can be involved safely.
