Buster Sides

Buster Sides has been a minister at Blanchard since February 2008. Buster received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Oklahoma Christian University. Buster and Angie met at the South Yukon congregation and were married in February 1997. They moved to Blanchard from the Central congregation in Chandler, OK. Buster and Angie have been blessed with two children, Kylie and Nick.

Youth and Family Minister

Jess Florence

Jess has been with the church here in Blanchard since 2015, but began serving as our full-time youth and family minister since July of 2017. Before his time at Blanchard he worked as a high school math teacher and coach at Tuttle high school. During those summer months Jess would come work with the youth and families here at Blanchard. Jess still considers himself a teacher at heart and strives to put those skills he acquired through his time in classroom instruction to help bring the Bible to life in real and applicable ways to the 6th – 12th grade students he studies scripture with weekly.

Jess and Shelby were married in September of 2018. Both Jess and Shelby have family ties to the church in Blanchard and are honored to help others to feel like they too have a strong spiritual family connection here. They welcomed their first son, Jett, to the world in December of 2020.

Jess and Shelby have loved working with the church and families here in Blanchard and look forward to many more years of serving shoulder to shoulder with their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
