Camp Contact

For those of you who have kids who attend Camp Contact with us in the summer and/or tag along to help during our day of teaching there has been a big date change.

This year Camp Contact for our group will be June 27-July 1.

Due to students being so far behind because of Covid and virtual learning, Tulsa Public School is using the month of July for remediation and summer school causing the Contact staff to shift things to June.

For those of you that are new or don't know what Contact is here's the basic rundown:

The Contact Mission Church of Christ works primarily with intercity kids and families in West Tulsa. Each summer they have a 3 week long VBS-style camp that they host at their building. Each week a handful of churches travel to Tulsa to help coordinate classes and activities throughout the week. The most important aspect of Camp Contact is the teen/kid relationships. Each teen is paired up with one of the Contact Kids for the week. They will teach, play, and mentor their "little buddy" all week long! This has been and will continue to be one of our favorite activities we do all year, not because it is easy, but because it is so impactful both to our teens and to the families they are serving.
